Campaign Goal: Paramedic Training - $36,000

Message to donors:

We are raising money in memory of:
The 49 MDA staff who rushed toward danger, and lost their lives on October 7, 2023 (HaShem Yikom Damam)

Our goal is to train a paramedic to save lives in their memory.

Information about National Service Paramedic Training:
A paramedic is the most highly trained emergency medicine professional, completing more than 2,000 hours of training in order to receive national certification. As Magen David Adom continues to expand its network of Mobile Intensive Care Unit Ambulances to provide the most sophisticated pre-hospital treatment possible, it is facing an acute shortage of paramedics.  The National Service Paramedic Training Course, offered only by Magen David Adom, was specially designed as an IDF service alternative and typically attracts young women who are exempt from IDF service for reasons including but not limited to religious beliefs or health. While MDA has offered a standard EMT course almost since its inception, the rigorous three-year National Service Paramedic Training course, introduced in 2017, has already produced hundreds of graduates serving across the country. The program equips participants with lifesaving skills while providing a career and a sense of empowerment. These dedicated paramedics have become some of the most esteemed care providers, especially in times of crisis, when many first responders are called up for reserve duty, ensuring emergency services are available nationwide.

They have played an even more critical role since October 7. In 2023, enrollment more than tripled, with 150 participants. Over the next few years, the number of participants will rise to 180 to address widespread risks, population growth, and regular attrition. The three-year training course begins every August and is divided into eight sections. The curriculum combines 18 months of classroom instruction and clinical rotations in hospitals, followed by 18 months of shifts on MICU (Mobile Intensive Care Unit) ambulances. These paramedics commit to serving with MDA for a minimum of two years after completing their training. As the severity of emergency cases grows with an aging population and the ongoing threat of terror attacks, MDA is upgrading its Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances to Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances, which must be staffed by at least one paramedic leading an EMT team.

Sponsorship Opportunity:
